Reset a forgotten password
Request a secure Track My Ride password reset, create a new password and regain access to your account.
Reset your password when you cannot remember the current one. Track My Ride verifies the request through the email address attached to your account.
Before you start
Use the official Track My Ride website or mobile app and make sure you can access the account's email inbox. A reset link expires after 1 hour and can be used only once.
Your new password must contain 8 to 72 characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number. It must not be a password you used previously.

On the Track My Ride login screen, select Forgot your password?.

What happens next
The new password works immediately and the old password no longer works. Track My Ride emails a confirmation and signs the account out of other sessions. A mobile device actively sharing its location may remain signed in so location sharing can continue. Resetting the password does not disable 2FA; the next login still requires the authenticator or an unused backup code.
Troubleshooting
- The reset email does not arrive: Check junk, spam, quarantine and organisation mail filters. Confirm that you entered the address registered to the account. If you use several addresses, try the one that receives other Track My Ride account messages. For privacy, the reset screen does not reveal whether an address belongs to an account.
- The email or reset page looks unfamiliar: Confirm that you requested the reset from the Track My Ride service you normally use rather than another similarly named site. Return to the official login page and start again instead of entering a password into an unexpected page.
- The reset link is invalid or expired: Use only the newest reset email. Request another link if it is more than 1 hour old, has already been used or reports that it is invalid.
- The mobile reset screen does not open: Update to the latest available app version or complete the reset through the Track My Ride web login.
- The password reset succeeds but 2FA blocks login: Enter a current authenticator code or one unused backup code. Select Try recovery on the 2FA prompt if neither is available. See Set up and recover two-factor authentication for the full recovery process.
- The account email is no longer accessible: Contact Support for verified account recovery. Never send Support your current or proposed password, authenticator code or backup code.
