Deactivate mobile phone tracking

Deactivate mobile phone tracking

As the primary account holder, you can remotely deactivate mobile tracking for any driver/phone that has been setup with mobile tracking on your account.
  1. Log into your account
Open the app or website at https://app.trackmyride.com.au and login to your account.

  2. Navigate to the drivers page

  3. Locate the driver with mobile tracking
In the Drivers section, you will see a pencil icon at the end of the row to begin editing

  4. Access the mobile tracking settings
In the driver editing popup, choose the Mobile Tracking tab at the top of the popup.

  5. Change the mobile tracking settings
Deactivate tracking for this driver by simply toggling the Tracking option to Deactivated.

Confirm the details regarding your mobile tracking licences.

  6. Save your changes
When you're done editing the mobile tracking settings, press the Save button at the bottom of the popup window.

Mobile tracking will now be disabled for the driver/phone. The change will be sent to the phone in the field, and the user of the phone will be notified that mobile tracking has been deactivated on their phone. You can reactivate mobile tracking for this driver/phone at any time in the future simply by toggling the mobile tracking back to the Active state.

Additional Tips

  • Check for Permissions:

    • Ensure that your mobile device has the necessary permissions enabled for location tracking to work properly.
  • Battery Usage:

    • Be aware that enabling Mobile Tracking can increase battery usage. Under default settings, where captured points are uploaded once 200 have been recorded, or when the vehicle has stopped for 10 minutes mobile tracking will typically consume around 5% battery per hour. You can adjust your tracking upload interval to be more or less frequent to balance real-time tracking and battery life. More frequent upload of tracking points will give more real-time tracking, at the expense of higher battery use.
