Change Your Track My Ride Account Password

Update your password to keep your account secure

Need to change your password to keep your account secure? Updating your password is straightforward and takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the password change process and explains the security measures that protect your account during the update.

Why Change Your Password

Regularly updating your password helps protect your Track My Ride account from unauthorised access. You might want to change your password if you think it may have been compromised, if you're sharing your account with someone new who needs different credentials, or simply as part of good security practices.

Changing Your Password

Follow these steps to update your Track My Ride password.

Step 1: Log In to Your Account

Log in to your Track My Ride account at https://app.trackmyride.com.au or use the Track My Ride mobile app. You need to be signed in to change your password.

Step 2: Navigate to Settings

Click on the settings icon to access your account settings. The settings icon looks like a gear or cog and is typically found in the navigation menu.

Step 3: Access Password Change

In the settings page, look for the Profile section. Within the Profile area, you'll see a "Change password" link. Click this link to open the password change interface.

Step 4: Enter Your Passwords

A popup window titled "Change password" appears with three fields:

Old password: Enter your current account password

New password: Enter your new password. The field includes a note reminding you that your password must contain one of each: A-Z (uppercase letters), a-z (lowercase letters), and 0-9 (numbers), and must be at least 8 characters long.

Repeat new password: Enter your new password again to confirm you've typed it correctly

Step 5: Save Your New Password

After filling in all three fields, click the blue "Update" button to save your new password. If you change your mind, click "Cancel" to close the window without making changes.

Step 6: Sign In Again

For security purposes, when you change your password, all your existing sessions will be logged out. This includes any devices you have signed in on in the past, such as your computer, phone, tablet, or any other devices where you've accessed Track My Ride.

You'll be automatically logged out and prompted to sign back in. Enter your new password when prompted to regain access to your account.

Password Requirements

Track My Ride enforces specific password requirements to ensure your account remains secure.

Minimum Length

Your password must be at least 8 characters long. Longer passwords are generally more secure, so consider using more than the minimum if possible.

Required Character Types

Your password must contain at least one character from each of these categories:

Uppercase letters (A-Z): At least one capital letter

Lowercase letters (a-z): At least one lowercase letter

Numbers (0-9): At least one digit

This requirement ensures your password has sufficient complexity to resist common password guessing attacks.

No Password Reuse

For security, you cannot use a password you have used before on this account. Track My Ride maintains a history of your previous passwords and prevents you from reusing them. This security measure ensures that if an old password was compromised, it cannot be used to access your account in the future.
