Manage Mobile Location Sharing licences

Review available mobile licences, change the subscribed quantity and assign licences to people who share a phone location.

A mobile licence allows one person to share their phone's location through Track My Ride. Each person actively using Location Sharing needs an available licence. The Account page also shows any complimentary quantity included with hardware licences.

Before you start

You must use the top-level account, which is the main account with full administrative access, to change the subscribed quantity. Before reducing it, deactivate unused sharing links so active users do not exceed the new quantity. Review the displayed cost and effective date before confirming any change.

Before scheduling a reduction, list the people who must keep sharing and deactivate everyone else yourself. If the number of available licences becomes lower than the number of active users, do not rely on the system choosing which people will retain access.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > Account.
  2. Under Mobile Location Sharing, review active, complimentary and scheduled licence quantities.

  1. Select Manage mobile licences.
  2. Choose a quantity that covers everyone who must continue sharing their phone location.
  3. Review the cost, effective date and any on-screen warning about active links. A reduction can prevent links above the available quantity from remaining active.
  4. Confirm the change.
  5. Return to the Account page and verify the current or scheduled quantity.
  6. Open People and confirm that licences are used only by people who need active Location Sharing.

What happens next

Added licences become available for phone links. Reductions take effect on the date shown during confirmation. On that date, check the number of available licences and which people still have active Location Sharing. Restore or reassign access if the result differs from your intended list.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot reduce the quantity, deactivate or unlink enough people first. If the displayed quantity is not what you expected, check for a scheduled change before submitting another request. If the quantity reduced but the wrong person lost access, review each person's Location Sharing setting and reactivate only the authorised people within the available quantity.
