Managing your drivers

Managing your drivers

Overview

Track My Ride allows you to track vehicles and drivers using TMR hardware trackers or the mobile app for iPhone and Android. You can assign drivers to vehicles or allow them to choose their own within the app. If a driver is using mobile tracking, their driving tracks will be recorded and associated with the vehicle. Keep in mind, a vehicle can only have one driver at a time and a driver can only operate one vehicle at a time for accurate record keeping. There's a dedicated page to this when you're logged in either via the app or the website
This feature is essential for businesses or individuals who need to track which drivers are operating which vehicles at any given time.

What you can do:
  1. Add Drivers - Easily add drivers who will be using your vehicles.
  2. Assign Drivers to Vehicles - Assign and unassign drivers to vehicles as needed, similar to using a keyfob system.
  3. Driver ID System - Utilise the optional smart Driver ID system with keyfobs for automatic driver assignment.

How to create Drivers

Once you're on the page as shown above you click on "New" which will bring you to following screen:

Here you can all the relevant details that you wish and assign a keyfob ID  which support driver identification (sold separately).  This can be used by your drivers to maintain the records of who is operating your vehicle in your reports (more on that later). The reader will register the unique ID of the keyfob when the keyfob is pressed to the reader for 1 second. The keyfob’s unique ID will be matched against one of your existing drivers, or a new driver record for the keyfob will be created automatically if no match was found.

How to edit Drivers:

There are two ways to edit drivers. The first is to simple click on the little pencil you see at the end of the row like in the image below. That will take you the previous editable fields from before.

The second way is called Bulk Editing and is handy if you have have a lot of drivers that you need to update information for.

  2. Select the driver you want to assign.
  3. Click on the Assign Vehicle button.

Driver History Report

The Driver History Report can be generated for each vehicle. This report will list which driver was logged into the vehicle at specific times using the keyfob system or assigned manually, and when they were logged. It will show the duration a driver was assigned/logged into a car, how many journeys were completed in those times, and how many kilometers were traveled. This provides a detailed history of driver assignments, ensuring you have accurate records of vehicle usage.
