Add a new vehicle
Need to add another vehicle to your Track My Ride account? Whether you're expanding your fleet with another hardware tracker or trying out mobile phone tracking for the first time, this guide will walk you through the process. You'll learn how to set up either type of tracking - a dedicated GPS hardware tracker for comprehensive vehicle monitoring, or mobile phone tracking that lets your drivers use their smartphones to track their locations. We'll cover the setup process, configuration options, and any associated costs to get your new vehicle tracking up and running.

- Access your Track My Ride account at https://app.trackmyride.com.au or use the Track My Ride mobile app.
If you don't have an account yet, see Create your account - Navigate to the vehicles page.
- Click the New button at the top of the page.
- Choose between creating a Hardware tracked vehicle or a Mobile tracked vehicle
- Hardware tracked vehicle - Track a vehicle using a dedicated Track My Ride hardware tracker
- Mobile tracked vehicle - Track a vehicle using mobile phone tracking via the Track My Ride mobile app. Mobile phone tracking can automatically detect different activities such as walking and driving. The 'driving activity' location data captured by the driver's mobile phone will be saved against the mobile tracked vehicle and shown on the map. A driver can choose which vehicle they are operating in the app.
- If you're activating a new hardware tracker, enter its particulars in the popup window.
The TMR-S1, TMR-S5, and TMR-S7 model units are no longer eligible to be activated and are End Of Life due to the 3G network shutdown in 2024. - Click Submit to proceed.
- You will need to pay for the additional prorated licence fees to add the hardware tracker to your account. See our page on billing management for more information.
- If you're activating a new mobile tracked vehicle, enter the particulars in the popup window.
- Click Save to create the new mobile tracked vehicle.
Your mobile tracked drivers can now choose this vehicle from within the Track My Ride mobile app as they vehicle they're operating and their 'driving activity' location data will be saved against the vehicle and available to review on the main map.
